About himalayan pink salt
The tradition behind the salt
Himalayan pink salt is rock salt mined in Pakistan’s Salt Range, in Punjab, where ancient sea-salt deposits were sealed under the mountains millions of years ago. The Khewra mine, one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world, is the best known source.
Its pink-to-rose colour comes from trace minerals in the rock. Chefs value it for its clean taste and its crystals, which can be ground fresh at the table.
