Murabba
Whole fruit, slow-cooked in syrup — a winter tradition in a jar.
Murabba is the subcontinent’s classic fruit preserve: whole or cut fruit simmered gently in sugar syrup until translucent. FreshCo makes three of the most-loved — amla, carrot and apple.

About murabba
The tradition behind the murabba
Murabba has been made in South Asian homes for centuries, traditionally prepared when fruit is in season and stored in large jars to be eaten through the year. A piece of murabba with breakfast or after a meal is a habit many families keep from their grandparents.
Amla (Indian gooseberry) murabba is the best known, prized for its sweet-sour taste; carrot murabba is a winter favourite; apple murabba is mellow and fragrant. Each FreshCo jar is cooked so the fruit stays whole and tender in a glossy syrup.
